My mother was strong, in all the ways I was weak. She fell, she hurt, she felt. She lived. And for all the tumble of her experiences, she still had hope. Maybe this next time would do the trick. Or maybe not. But unless you stepped into the game, you will never know. Sarah Dessen
About This Quote

The September 11 terrorist attacks on New York, Washington and Pennsylvania were a horrific tragedy. But they also brought forth an astonishing display of tenacity and resiliency from the people of those cities. The people who lost loved ones or were affected by the filthy air or falling buildings got up, cleaned up their homes, put on a brave face and went about their lives as best they could under the circumstances. They braved the wreckage of buildings and lived through the horror that was September 11.

In the aftermath of the attack, many of those people who were able to move back into their homes realized that they had to start over. They had to take care of what was left of their lives and find ways to move forward after such a devastating loss.
